John W. Ellis IV is a devoted member of the East Bay Church of Religious Science community with a deep commitment to spiritual growth, compassion, and service. His desire to serve on the Board of Trustees is rooted in living his spirituality in action—expanding joy, fostering connection, and supporting a thriving, harmonious community. With a professional background in journalism, public relations, and martial arts, John brings strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. He has also served in leadership roles on community boards, including the Bay Area Black Journalists, where he held positions as Treasurer, Secretary, and President. An active volunteer at East Bay, John has contributed to key initiatives such as the Love In Action Newsletter, the Prayer Symposium, and the 50th Anniversary celebration. He offers thoughtful leadership, grounded presence, and a heart for service in support of the community’s continued growth.
