Roles and Responsibilities of the Communications Ministry
Weekly Announcements
Role: Announcement Coordinator
- Gather information from ministry leaders and teams to create concise, engaging announcements for church services.
- Coordinate with worship leaders to ensure smooth integration of announcements during services.
- Proofread and prioritize announcements based on relevance and timeliness.
- Deliver announcements clearly and effectively (or train designated speakers to do so).
- Love in Action Newsletter
Love in Action Newsletter
Role: Newsletter Editor
- Collect content from ministries, staff, and community members, including stories, reflections, and updates.
- Curate and design the newsletter layout for readability and visual appeal.
- Write and edit articles to ensure alignment with the church’s mission and values.
- Collaborate with the production team to distribute the newsletter in print or digital formats.
Weekly E-blast
Role: Eblast Coordinator
- Compile content for weekly emails, including event highlights, service updates, and community reminders.
- Design and schedule eblasts using email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Ensure the eblast aligns with branding standards and is optimized for different devices.
- Track engagement metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates) to improve content effectiveness.
Marketing Materials for Events
Role: Marketing Designer
- Work with event organizers to understand goals and create tailored marketing materials (flyers, posters, social media posts).
- Develop graphics and designs that reflect the church’s branding and event themes.
- Coordinate printing and digital distribution to maximize visibility.
- Ensure deadlines are met for timely promotion.
Special Projects
Role: Project Communications Lead
- Develop a comprehensive communication strategy for significant initiatives (e.g., fundraising campaigns, anniversaries).
- Create and manage timelines for content production and distribution.
- Oversee cross-platform promotion, including social media, newsletters, and announcements.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders and volunteers to ensure messaging consistency.
